There is the option of adding a defrost element for use in extreme sub-zero temperatures.
Heating and Hot Water
The Truma Combi 4e boiler heating and hot water system operates on either gas or mains electric with an even distribution of heating outlets throughout the van. It is fitted with a digital thermostat and timer so that you can control the heating system day and night.

Privacy tinted double glazed windows and large Heki rooflights ensure that the living area is light, well ventilated and condensation free. All windows and rooflights have blinds and flyscreens.
Insulation
All our van conversions are fully insulated with grade 3 thermal insulation, fully winterised and perfect for all year round use.
The Charging System
The quality of your leisure batteries is important which is why we now fit lithium as standard. What is equally important is the means by which the leisure battery is charged – the leisure battery will receive a charge from three sources:
Mains hook up charger – This has been the most common way of charging the leisure batteries and in the past mains hook up was necessary to maintain a charge to the batteries. Now with alternative charge sources available, it is possible to maintain a charge to the leisure batteries without the need for a constant mains supply, giving you the option to spend more time off grid.
Battery to battery charger – When the vehicle engine is running, the battery to battery charger charges the leisure batteries.
Solar panel – A roof mounted 160w solar panel is a good source of power and we fit one 160w as standard to trickle charge the batteries giving you several days independent camping. To achieve prolonged periods of static mains free camping we recommend that you add a second 160w solar panel and upgrade to the 230a lithium battery.

Truma Diesel & Electric Boiler
The new Truma 4de diesel and electric boiler is ideal for those wishing to spend more time off grid using the diesel stored in the van fuel tank rather than relying on the availability of LPG to refill the underslung gas tank.
Fiamma F80S Awning
The Fiamma wind out awning creates the perfect shade area adjacent to the sliding door for those hot sunny days.
Fiamma Rear Door Mounted Bike Rack
The Fiamma carry-bike is designed specifically for the Fiat Ducato and will carry two bikes with a combined weight of up to 35kg – it folds up against the rear door when not in use.
Standard Tow Bar
We fit a Ducato specific high quality tow bar with 13 pin electrics suitable for towing or to accommodate a tow bar mounted bike rack.
Swing Away Tow Bar (for Bike Rack)
A swing away tow bar can be fitted to take a tow bar mounted bike rack – this will allow the bike rack to swing away from the rear doors giving you full access to the rear boot storage area. We stock both Thule Velo Swing and the Memo Swing Away.
Avtex Smart TV/DVD
We fit the very latest Avtex Smart TV/DVD fitted with an adjustable bracket. The Smart facility gives you access to all your favourite catch up channels – use your phone or a mobile router to create a Wi-Fi connection.
Flyscreen for Sliding Door
An internal sliding flyscreen can be fitted to the sliding door to allow extra ventilation and deter flying insects from getting in.
External Gas Barbeque Point
An external gas barbeque point can be fitted on the near side rear quarter to connect your barbeque to the underslung gas tank supply.
Fresh Water Tank Defrost
A 12v heated element can be fitted to the fresh water tank to help prevent the water freezing in sub-zero temperatures.
Ceramic Paint Protection
A durable ceramic high gloss finish to protect your paint work and maintain it’s shine without the need for polishing, this also makes washing your motorhome so much easier.
12v Air Con with Ringlight (only available with 230a battery)
A 12v roof mounted Air Con Unit can be fitted in place of the front 400 x 400 Heki – with careful battery management this will allow the aircon to be used off grid for short periods to cool the living/sleeping area. There is a built-in LED Ringlight to compensate for the daylight lost by replacing the Heki.
Cab Screens
Internal Thermal Cab Screens
Internal thermal screens attach to the front windscreen and the door windows to insulate the cab area. These also work to black out the cab keeping it cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter.
Remis Cab Blinds
An alternative to internal thermal cab screens are Remis concertina cab blinds which can be fitted to the cab area.
Mains Free Plus
Additional 160w Solar Panel
A second 160w solar panel can be fitted to add even more charge to the leisure batteries, this is ideal for those who prefer to spend more time mains free camping.
Lithium 230a battery upgrade
For extended off grid use and when using an inverter the 230a Lithium battery upgrade together with the additional 160w solar panel will provide an extended level of 12v power.
There is also the option of having a second 230a Lithium battery for even more time off grid, this is paerticularly beneficial for winter camping when the power draw is high and the solar input is minimal.
2000w inverter with integrated priority
An inverter turns the 12v power in the battery to 230v and is ideal for those who need mains power when off grid – typically used for a hair dryer, charging electric bike batteries and laptops etc.
Our new 2000w inverter with integrated mains priority means that the 230v sockets will work whether you are on or off grid. The inverter will sense a mains feed and prioritise this over inverting the 12v to mains. When there is no mains feed it will use the 12v Lithium battery power and invert this to a 230v supply up to 2000w (2kw).
All Electric – Gas Free
Up until recently gas has been the main power source for heating and cooking in motorhomes but the hassle of exchanging gas bottles and finding LPG stations has resulted in the quest to find alternative power solutions.
Cooking and hot water use a minimal amount of gas but blown air heating particularly in the cold winter months uses a significant amount of gas.
Diesel heaters have now become more readily available and the new Truma combi diesel boiler (the diesel feed is taken from the van fuel tank) provides heating and hot water – there is also the facility to use electric for heating and hot water when on a mains hook up.
With the Lithium 230a battery upgrade, additional 160w solar panel, upgraded 50a b2b charger, 2000w inverter with integrated priority it is now possible to run an induction hob and microwave for short periods off grid but it must be pointed out that cooking on inverted electric from the Lithium battery has a significant draw on the battery power.
A combination of the Truma diesel combi boiler and a gas hob/oven with 25L underslung gas (enough gas supply for a couple of years or so) is often a better solution for more off grid use however we realise that some customers may prefer a gas free option.
