Heating and Plumbing
We have fully utilised the underside of the van to optimise the volume of the fresh and waste water. The underslung tanks are made of a thick insulated and durable high grade plastic so that they will not freeze when in use during the winter months. There is the option of adding a defrost element for use in extreme sub-zero temperatures.
Heating and Hot Water
The Truma Combi 4e boiler heating and hot water system operates on either gas or mains electric with an even distribution of heating outlets throughout the van. It is fitted with a digital thermostat and timer so that you can control the heating system day and night.
Refillable Gas Tank
All our vans are fitted with a 25L underslung gas tank with level gauge monitor, this allows you to easily manage your gas and significantly reduces the cost of refilling.
Windows and Rooflights
Privacy tinted double glazed windows and large Heki rooflights ensure that the living area is light, well ventilated and condensation free. All windows and rooflights have blinds and flyscreens.
Insulation
All our van conversions are fully insulated with grade 3 thermal insulation, fully winterised and perfect for all year round use.
The Charging System
The quality of your leisure batteries is important which is why we now fit lithium as standard. What is equally important is the means by which the leisure battery is charged – the leisure battery will receive a charge from three sources:
- Mains hook up charger – This has been the most common way of charging the leisure batteries and in the past mains hook up was necessary to maintain a charge to the batteries. Now with alternative charge sources available, it is possible to maintain a charge to the leisure batteries without the need for a constant mains supply, giving you the option to spend more time off grid.
- Battery to battery charger when the engine is running – When the vehicle engine is running, the battery to battery charger charges the leisure batteries.
- Solar panel with MPPT dual regulator – A roof mounted 160w solar panel is a good source of power and we fit one 160w as standard to trickle charge the batteries giving you several days independent camping. To achieve prolonged periods of static mains free camping we recommend that you add a second 160w solar panel and upgrade to the 230a lithium battery.
